David  left school in 1985 and started his ownmobile disco business,he continued to build this up for the next few years, working all around the South and South East of the UK.

Got his first break in 1991 when he landed his first summer season job as a DJ/ Entertainer and was posted to Somerset, Met Stevie Bee, who became a good friend.

1992 continued his career in sunny Devon in a lovely holiday camp in Brixham, this post lasted two years, and just brought him back to Basingstoke in the winter.

1994, David progressed to DJ/ sound and lighting engineer, at Camber Sands in Sussex, worked with many names on the club circuit.

1995, David moved to Clacton on Sea for his next season, working as a DJ/ Assistants entertainments manager, and his job involved him writing the weekly entertainments program, plus much more.

1996, David teamed up again with his close friend Stevie Bee on P&O  “Pride of Bilbao” the UK’s largest cruise ferry, once again working as DJ/ Sound and Lighting engineer, this job took him to Spain twice a week and France once a week.

1997, Stayed with Stevie Bee and P&O but his job moved up a gear as Assistant Entertainments Manger.

1998, David moved away from the season work and moved to Hull, started his own retail business selling Pro audio equipment.

1999, After many hunting telephone calls, David agreed to do one more 8 month contract for Juliann’s, this was in the Middle East in Jordan, and his position was DJ/ Promotions Manager for Marriott Hotels.

2000, David came back to his home town of Basingstoke met up with his school sweet heart and started up his own events company,DJ Events uk supplying PA Hire and staging to local radio and companies.

2001 David got Married to Fay and they bought their first house.

2002 October was the most memorable month for  them both as their son Lewis was born, David continued to build up his business.

2004 December was the worst time of David’s and family’s life, David was taken to Hospital with Meningitis, and was in a coma for five days, his chance of survival was only 15%, Luckily David did pull through, but only to find that he was paralysed from the waist down and blind.

2005, David discharged himself from hospital in March on Mothers day, and continued to progress at home with the help and support of his wife and family.

2006, David started to walk again, a bit slower than normal and also started BLINK Fundraising, along with a newly found Simon Goodier.

Now the future is getting better by the day, David hopes to get back to work with in the next two years, but until then he will continue to raise funds for local charities and local people.

To be continued…….
